2022 Strategic Speakers

Mr. Kemp is President and CEO of Foundation Energy, a private investment firm and developer of new energy businesses.   He has more than 40 years experience in the energy industry starting his career at Imperial Oil and holding technical and business roles through the 80s and 90s. Mr. Kemp went on to start Foundation Energy where he founded and started Access Pipeline, now a $3 billion pipeline company.   He was one of the founders of Northwest Refining, now an operating refinery northeast of Edmonton, owned by Canadian Natural Resources and the Alberta Government. It’s the only refinery in North America with integrated carbon capture.   Mr. Kemp is a past director of the Canadian Fuels Association and the Alberta Chamber of Resources. He also brings his business expertise and community involvement to two not-for-profit boards. You can find him skiing, climbing, biking, or hiking in the mountains with family or friends in his spare time.
