Dr. Ramesh is a principal consultant with the Approvals, Permitting and Compliance group in Canada. She has over 25 years of progressive experience in the environmental industry, specifically in the field of regulatory and environmental assessments, approvals, and permitting, environmental health assessments and stakeholder engagements. She has been the technical lead for industrial applications in different sectors including chemicals, mining, oil sands, renewables and infrastructure. She has led and directed Environmental Impact Assessments and associated regulatory applications and permitting both across Canada and Internationally and has been an expert witness. Recently she led a regulatory study to assess international regulatory process of different countries and the World Bank to provide detailed recommendations to Canada’s Federal regulatory process – Canadian Environmental Assessments.

Dr. Ramesh has successfully delivered more than 25 EPEA approvals in Alberta and led several Environmental Assessments. Geetha has provided regulatory approvals and permitting services to our clients from site selection through to operations.  She works with clients to develop sound regulatory approval strategies and regulatory road maps for federal, provincial and municipal permits and approvals.

Dr. Ramesh is nationally respected for her expertise in risk assessment and associated regulatory guiding principles and development of regional initiatives. For example, she was invited to be part of the development of Alberta’s Land Use Framework and a member of several environmental task forces.  Working with De Beers mining in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, she was responsible for pioneering the Canadian development of site-specific criteria using the “new species sensitivity distributions”. She was part of the technical team responsible for developing the rationale for site specific criteria for environmental assessments in the mining sector in BC. Task force for the development of detailed Ecological Risk assessments in BC – Science advisory board - BC.
