Dr. Duo Wenli, is chief scientist of thermochemical processes and bioenergy in Canada's forest products innovation research institute (FPInnovations). He graduated from Tsinghua University in 1982 and received his Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. In 1985, he received his Master's degree from the Institute of chemical metallurgy of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (the present name: Process Engineering Institute) and Doctorate degree from Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 1990. From 2001 till now, he works in Canadian pulp and Paper Research Institute (now FPInnovations) in the research field of high temperature thermochemistry, black liquor recovery of chemical pulp process, alkali recovery furnace, flue gas emission control, biomass energy, combustion, gasification, cracking, activated carbon and so on. He has provided high temperature reaction process technology implementation and optimization, for large-scale equipment observation, measurement, sampling, evaluation, diagnosis and debugging for 50 pulp and paper mills. He has completed more than 200 scientific papers and technical reports, and more than 300 industrial exchange reports. He also has been issued a number of awards including the two awards of I.H.WELDON AWARD and DOUGLAS JONES ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD issued by PAPTAC Technology Association of Canada. He helped pulp and paper manufacturers to increase revenue over 50 million Canadian dollars.
