Bear Head LNG
Bear Head LNG Corporation Inc. (Bear Head LNG) is a Canadian based subsidiary of Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (LNGL), which is developing an 8 mtpa or greater LNG export terminal in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, Canada with potential for further expansion. The 327-acre site is located on the naturally deep waters of the Strait of Canso and has all of the 10 initial Canadian permits are in place, including an approved environmental assessment; permits to construct a gas plant facility from both the Department of Natural Resources and the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board; and a development permit from the municipal government in Richmond County.
Canada's National Energy Board (NEB) has granted Bear Head LNG authorization to import natural gas from the U.S. and to export up to 8 mtpa of LNG from Canada, with authority to expand to up to 12 mtpa in the future.
LNGL is an ASX listed company (Code: LNG and OTC ADR: LNGLY) with offices in Houston, TX; Lake Charles, LA; Perth, Western Australia; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose portfolio consists of 100% ownership of the following companies in addition to Bear Head LNG:
- Magnolia LNG, LLC (Magnolia LNG), a US-based subsidiary, which is developing an eight mtpa or greater LNG export terminal, in the Port of Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA;
- Bear Paw Pipeline Corporation Inc. (Bear Paw), proposing to construct and operate a 62.5 km gas pipeline lateral to connect gas supply to Bear Head LNG; and
- LNG Technology Pty Ltd, a subsidiary which owns and develops the Company’s OSMR® LNG liquefaction process, a mid-scale LNG business model that plans to deliver lower capital and operating costs, faster construction, and improved efficiency, relative to larger traditional LNG projects.
